THE JOURNEY

Fine art portraiture is a little different from a traditional photo session. You don’t need to arrive with a suitcase full of clothing or know how to pose. For most sessions, I create the wardrobe directly on set using fabric, draping, texture, light, and simple styling pieces.

You show up. I’ll take care of the rest.

Here’s what to expect from booking through your final photographs.

01 / BOOK YOUR SESSION

Choose your session and select an available date from the online calendar. You’ll also have the option to add professional hair and makeup when you book.

Once your session is reserved, you’ll receive a confirmation email with studio information and everything you need to know before your appointment.

02 / THE CONSULTATION

A consultation isn’t required for a standard fine art session, but I’m always happy to talk through ideas or answer questions before your appointment.

For fully custom sessions, we’ll plan the concept together in advance, including wardrobe, set design, styling, and any special pieces we may need to source or create.

03 / WARDROBE

For most fine art sessions, there’s very little for you to bring. I create the look using fabric and textiles that are draped and styled directly on the body. You’ll receive specific instructions before your session, including what undergarments or simple foundation pieces to bring.

If you’ve booked a custom session, wardrobe may be designed, sourced, or created specifically for your concept.

04 / HAIR, MAKEUP & SET DESIGN

If you’ve added professional hair and makeup, your stylist will begin getting you camera-ready while I prepare the set. This is where the session starts taking shape. I’ll choose the backdrop, fabrics, furniture, lighting, and other elements based on the look we’re creating for..

No two sets need to be exactly alike.

05 / YOUR SESSION

You do not need to know how to pose.

I’ll direct you through the entire session—from your body position and hands to expression, movement, and where to look. Fine art posing is slower and more deliberate than traditional portraiture, with an emphasis on shape, light, and composition.

Your only job is to follow my direction.

06 / THE PHOTO REVEAL

Fine art portraits require additional work before they’re ready to view, so Photo Reveals are scheduled for a later date rather than immediately after your session.

At your reveal, you’ll see your finished proof gallery, choose your favorite photographs, and decide whether you’d like to add anything beyond what is included in your collection.

07 / YOURARTWORK

Your photographs can live as more than digital files.

At your Photo Reveal, you’ll also have the option to add wall art, albums, additional portraits, or other finished pieces if you’d like them. There’s no obligation to purchase beyond your collection.

08 / FINAL DELIVERY

Once you’ve made your selections, your chosen portraits receive their final retouching and finishing. Completed orders are typically ready within two to three weeks, depending on the products selected and current studio schedule.
